About me

  • International Experience

I studied Electrical Engineering overseas and then I got married. Soon after graduation I came to Australia.

My husband and I started our family and I decided to be a stay at home mum until kids were in school. Now I am a mother to 2 boys and now that they are in school I began working as Electrical Engineer in an engineering consultacy environment.

I work full time on Defence projects. Think of it as literally “lighting up their world” or giving them “power” to do what they do. My work has taken me around various Defence bases in Western Australia and I have seen various cool and rather funny things too at the bases.

About my role

  • Calm
  • Creative
  • Disorganised
  • Humorous

The role of an Electrical Engineer involves talking to clients to find out exactly what their needs are in regards to electricity. This role then looks for sources that can safely and efficiently provide electricity to the place of need. This can be for anything from general lighting to specialized equipment in laboratories.

As part of this process, an Electrical Engineer gets to visit sites, talk to electricians and clients. This role provides design in various forms which can be basic sketches, reports, detailed drawings for constructions depending on who the audience is. An enjoyable part of this role is visiting various Defence sites before and after the project to literally see the difference that has been made.
